Flee for the hills! | ryuuzaki's Blog

Today, the landlady is coming around to do a spot-check of the house.

It turns out that one (possibly two, as I haven't seen her for a few weeks) of our flatmates moved out over the weekend.  Vlad and I did not know this.  It also turns out that the landlady called and said that she was coming around to inspect the house today.  Vlad and I also did not know this.  Ergo, we have done no tidying and as the two girls who did know have spent the weekend in the back garden sunbathing, neither have they.

Thus, I've decided to heroicly spend the day in town as I do not want to be here when the landlady discovers the blocked toilet downstairs.  Not entirely sure what I'm going to do in town, as it's unlikely that I can make posting the two books that I have sold so far last for the next seven hours or so, but I'd rather be anywhere but here.

In addition, the two books sold were Walter Benjamin's Illuminations and The Gothic by David Punter and Glennis Byron.  As I only have one copy of each book for sale, now none of the rest of you will ever know the wonder of these texts.  All of the books that Vlad and I are selling are still in condition good enough to read.  Some of them have slightly damaged covers, or annotations throughout, and these ones are being sold cheaply so you can pick up some real bargins.  There are also some rarities in there such as a copy Moore's Paradox: New Essays on Belief, Rationality and First Person (edited by Mitchell Green and John N. Williams) in perfect condition and a well-loved copy of Freuds New Introductory Lectures on Psychoanalysis - one of his seldom published works.  If you hurry, you may also be able to pick up the script book for Christopher Nolan's masterpiece, Memento.

My mood: pretty optimistic

It didn't. But at least I wasn't there to become the scapegoat.
