Regretting staying longer with my mother now.  She's been trying to convince me that I deserve better than Vlad and should leave him.  I'm not sure what started this conversation, especially as Vlad was here just two days ago and she was being fine with him then - she even took him out for a meal.

I think it's the fact that Vlad has been taking driving lessons.  Mum believes that, this money should be being spent on furnishing for the house that we must find within the next two-three months.  Vlad needs to learn how to drive quickly as he's just inherited a car and we really need him able to drive it in order to help with our moving. 

And really, it's none of my mother's business what Vlad spends his money on.  Sure, I get annoyed at his flamboyant consumerism some times, and have asked him to try and save some money for things like our holidays and moving, but at the end of the day it's up to Vlad.  I can't seize control of his finances, and I wouldn't want to.

Money may mean everything to my insane, money-grabbing family, but to me it's just money.  You set aside everything you need to live by and, after that, the rest is yours to do what you want with.  And it's certainly not worth breaking up with my boyfriend of over three years about.
